Ascent Solar Commences Production from Its Littleton Production Line

Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTI), a developer of state of the art flexible thin-film solar modules, announced today that it has successfully begun regular production of monolithically integrated flexible CIGS modules from its production line in Littleton, Colorado.

This milestone makes Ascent Solar the first company to commence production of fully integrated lightweight thin-film CIGS modules using a plastic substrate. The company initially plans to operate the manufacturing line with one shift, progressing to full-scale 1.5 MW rated capacity utilizing three manufacturing shifts per day.

Canadian Solar Donates Contribution towards Solar Project for German School

Canadian Solar Inc. ("the Company", "CSI" or "we") (Nasdaq: CSIQ) today announced that it has donated 5,000 Euros to the Klimaschutz- und Solarforderverein am Gymnasium School in Neutraubling, Germany. The donation will be used to partially finance a 10 kWp rooftop solar project using our CS6A-150 modules. Other donors include students, teachers and alumni, as well as private individuals. The school will in turn use the net proceeds from the project to help fund projects in developing nations.

Ascent Solar Achieves Significant Efficiency Milestone

Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTI), a developer of state of the art flexible thin-film solar modules, today announced that it has achieved greater than 9.5% efficiency for its flexible Copper, Indium, Gallium, Selenide (CIGS) monolithically integrated modules.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has independently verified that the modules measured as high as 9.64% in conversion efficiency. The modules tested at NREL were produced from the company’s 1.5MW pilot production line.
