Raising the level of awareness is an ongoing and continuous focus of the Information Security Awareness Forum (ISAF). The ISAF is delighted to introduce the 2nd Information Security Awareness Week event. This event will provide a focus for awareness activities for suppliers and consumers of advice, will give experts an opportunity for those promoting awareness to collaborate for greater effectiveness, and will deliver a platform for launching initiatives on which to build and whose benefits are expected to continue for the coming weeks and months." - Dr David King, Chair of the Information Security Awareness Forum
“Infosecurity Europe is taking part in Information Security Awareness week in April 2009 and as the largest event in Europe dedicated to improving information security for business, government and other large organisation has an education programme dedicated to improving awareness. At the show as well as over 100 seminars and keynotes we have the new security Cafes and Security Expert Forums in which the ISAF is taking part, The ISAF is co-ordinating the activity of the organisations and groups who are responsible for helping UK government, business and citizens to prevent information security breaches, identity theft, and electronic crime. I am delighted that Infosecurity Europe is taking part in this initiative, by contributing our skills and resources to compliment those of all the other different bodies.” Tamar Beck, Group Event Director, Infosecurity Europe 2009 www.infosec.co.uk
The Information Security Awareness Forum was borne out of the ISSA-UK Advisory Board which identified the need for co-ordination activity within security awareness, and supported an awareness group to explore the agenda and identify specific actions that could be undertaken to make a difference.
