Subject to updating the resource model on completion of this drilling program, the above in-fill holes appear to be confirming the high grade core of the East Zone as modelled from the previous drilling campaigns conducted from 1972 to 1996, totalling approximately 74,000m. Hole DDH-03-249 encountered 56.6m of 0.37% copper and 0.39 gpt gold at a depth of 186.9m and appears to have intersected the north-east limit of the East Zone.

The mineral zones of the Red Chris copper-gold deposit are contained within the Main Phase of the early Jurassic 'Red Stock'intrusive. The Main Phase, which comprises 70% to 80% of the stock, is an extensively altered plagioclase-hornblende porphyritic monzodiorite to monzonite. Disseminated and fracture controlled chalcopyrite with minor bornite are associated with zones of strong quartz stockwork veining and silicification. Gold values generally increase with copper content.

As of Wednesday 8th October a total of 7442m (20 holes) of the estimated 20,000m program had been completed.

The primary purpose of this drilling program is to confirm resources within the proposed open pit areas in the East and Main Zones of this advanced-stage project, to the level required to complete a Detailed Feasibility Study, scheduled to commence January 2004. The drilling contractor is Hy-Tech Drilling Ltd. of Smithers, BC.

John Bellamy, P.Geo., the qualified person under National Instrument 43-101, is responsible for supervising the drilling program, including core logging, splitting, sampling, security and transportation of the samples to the laboratory.

International Plasma Laboratories ('IPL') of Vancouver, an ISO 9002 registered laboratory, is conducting sample preparation and the primary assaying for copper and gold. ALS Chemex, an ISO 9001:2000 registered laboratory based in North Vancouver, is performing the check assaying.

The drill core is split on the property. Half of the core is submitted for assay. The remaining half is stored on the property for future reference.

Split core samples are crushed to 80% passing 10 mesh. Approximately 250 grams are split off the coarse crush and pulverized to 90% passing 150 mesh. A 125 gram sample is assayed for copper (multi-acid digestion with AAS finish) and fire assayed '(FA') for gold (FA/AAS 30g). All gold assays 1 gpt or higher are re-assayed by FA with a gravimetric finish. Every 20th sample is sent to ALS Chemex for check assaying. ALS will return half of this sample to IPL as a blind duplicate for re-assay. The quality control program also includes the insertion, at the Red Chris property, of standards and blanks at a frequency of 1 in every 20 samples.

Giroux Consultants is responsible for the Red Chris assaying quality control program and will update the Red Chris resource estimate at the conclusion of the current drilling program. Gary Giroux is the qualified person under NI 43-101 for this work.

G & T Metallurgical Services Ltd., of Kamloops, B.C., an ISO 9001:2000 certified laboratory, will undertake the metallurgical test work necessary to confirm the process flow sheet. Laurion Consulting Inc. is managing the metallurgical test work program. Knight Piesold Ltd. are supervising the geotechnical and hydrogeological studies for open pit slope design and tailings dam, plant and waste dump site investigation studies.

bcMetals is the 100% owner and the operator of the Red Chris property. On September 11, bcMetals announced that it had entered into an Option Agreement with Teck Cominco to acquire Teck's 20% of the Red Chris property, subject to American Bullion's 30% reversionary interest which becomes effective after bcMetals has recovered 100% of its capital expenditures from production cash flow.

The Company now has three diamond drilling rigs in operation and expects to conclude the in-fill drilling program in approximately five weeks. The property is located 15 km east of Highway 37 and 7 km south of the Ealue Lake Road in northwestern B.C.
