News Release: Bright Star Obtains Significant Results of Up to 7.59 gm/t Platinum

Bright Star Ventures Ltd. (TSX-V: BSV) is pleased to report the discovery of a significant platinum occurrence on the Tulameen project, located in south-central British Columbia approximately 20 kilometers west of Princeton, B.C. The discovery was made during the early stages of a systematic rock-sampling program focused on the central core of the Tulameen ultramafic complex. Documented platinum production from historical placer workings located along the Tulameen River and her tributaries during the late 1800s indicate that more than 20,000 ounces of platinum were officially reported to the B.C. government agencies. A systematic rock-sampling program was conducted over the central core of the property as part of Bright Star's ongoing exploration program for 2003. Preliminary assay results from a series of bedrock chip and grab samples submitted to Eco-Tech Labs in Kamloops, B.C. returned fourteen samples with platinum values ranging between 0.50 g/t Pt to 7.59 g/t Pt in serpentinized chromitiferous dunite. The results are tabled below:

BSV Preliminary 2003 Bedrock Sampling Results

Sample TYPE LENGTH Pt gm/t
D0-07328 chip 3m 2.290
FL-07333 chip 3m 0.595
FL-07455 chip 3m 0.550
FL-07466 chip 3m 1.540
FL-07467 chip 3m 0.590
D0-07468 grab 0.2m 1.660
D007317 grab 0.2m 1.810
D007318 grab 0.2m 7.590
D007319 grab 0.2m 1.690
D007320 grab 0.2m 3.190
D007321 grab 0.2m 7.590
B007065 grab 0.2m 1.630
BB00706 grab 0.2m 6.120
D0-07463 grab 0.2m 0.497

In all of the samples, platinum is associated with concentrations of chromite in serpentinized dunite. The chromite in the central core of the Bright Star property occurs in at least five different morphological types: as coarse blebs up to 1 cm in size, which can constitute up to 10% of the rock, as discontinuous schlieren bands up to 2 cm in width and 1-2 meters in length, as fillings in serpentinized fractures with a significant chromite content which can be followed over significant distances, in breccias, as well as in primary layers. Several of the above significant assays were obtained along a lineament with a distinctive northwest trending airborne magnetic signature. Sampling within the central core of circular magnetic lows also returned significant preliminary results, including 1.54 g/t Pt over 3 meters.

Bright Star is very encouraged by these preliminary results and sampling continues on these target areas at this time. Additional field sampling will assist in identifying the locations of the platinum mineralization.
