News Release: WDI to Supply Smart Check HIV Tests to Dominican Republic

World Diagnostics, Inc. Shipments will commence on October 1, 2002, and will be managed by WDI's distribution partner Vanter S.A., in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Initial orders are for approximately of 40,000 units per month for a period of 12 months, representing about 480,000 tests annually. "Because of our low cost threshold, (WDI is able to deliver these and other unit tests at less than $1.00 USD for Point of Care testing in emerging markets), we believe this makes us a leader in providing quality health care products at affordable prices to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS, and other infectious diseases such as Malaria, Dengue Fever, Tuberculosis and Hepatitis. WDI's Smart Check HIV rapid test is one of the few Point of Care HIV rapid tests to hold FDA Tier 1 Nation Status, enabling it to qualify through local government evaluations and approvals for sale in numerous countries throughout the world that include Jamaica, Trinidad, Nicaragua, Argentina, Nepal, Malaysia, Uganda, Zambia, Nigeria and South Africa.
