A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd. Reports $10.0 Million in Net Income for the Fourth Quarter of 2008

A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd. (Nasdaq: APWR) ("A-Power" or "the Company"), a leading provider of distributed power generation ("DG") systems in China and a fast-growing manufacturer of wind turbines, today announced its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2008.

Financial Highlights 4Q08 vs. 4Q07:
-- Revenues rose 93.5% to $81.4 million, Gross margin was 17.8% vs. 11.2%, Net income rose 197.8% to $10.0 million, Diluted EPS was $0.30 vs. $0.25 (4Q08 fully diluted shares were, 33.1 million vs. 13.7 million in 4Q07)

Apple Reports Fourth Quarter Results

Most Profitable Quarter Ever; Record Mac and iPhone Sales

Apple® today announced financial results for its fiscal 2009 fourth quarter ended September 26, 2009. The Company posted revenue of $9.87 billion and a net quarterly profit of $1.67 billion, or $1.82 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $7.9 billion and net quarterly profit of $1.14 billion, or $1.26 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 36.6 percent, up from 34.7 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 46 percent of the quarter's revenue.

In accordance with the subscription accounting treatment required by GAAP, the Company recognizes revenue and cost of goods sold for iPhone(TM) and Apple TV® over their estimated economic lives. Adjusting GAAP sales and product costs to eliminate the impact of subscription accounting, the corresponding non-GAAP measures* for the quarter are $12.25 billion of "Adjusted Sales" and $2.85 billion of "Adjusted Net Income."

Ocean Power Technologies Project Wins A $66.5m Award from Australian Federal Government

Ocean Power Technologies (Australasia) Pty Ltd (“OPTA”), a subsidiary of Ocean Power Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPTT)(LSE: OPT.L) (“OPT”) is pleased to announce that, in partnership with Leighton Contractors Pty Ltd (“Leighton”), it has received a A$66.46 million grant from the Federal Government of Australia to build a 19 MW wave power project off the coast of Victoria, Australia.

The award is one of four renewable energy projects approved by the Federal Government after considering over 30 applications, and is the sole wave energy venture.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. to Acquire Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (BNSF) for $100 Per Share in Cash and Stock

BNSF will continue to operate from its Fort Worth, TX headquarters and will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway

The boards of directors of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK.A; BRK.B) and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (BNSF; NYSE: BNI) today announced a definitive agreement for Berkshire Hathaway to acquire for $100 per share in cash and stock the remaining 77.4 percent of outstanding BNI shares not currently owned to increase its holdings to 100 percent. Based on the number of outstanding BNI shares (including shares currently owned by Berkshire) on Nov. 2, 2009, the transaction is valued at approximately $44 billion, including $10 billion of outstanding BNSF debt, making it the largest acquisition in Berkshire Hathaway history.

Westport Announces Cooperation with Volvo

~Westport to Develop & Supply Natural Gas Fuel System for Heavy Duty Engines~

Westport Innovations Inc. (TSX:WPT/ NASDAQ:WPRT), a global leader in alternative fuel, low-emissions transportation technologies, today announced that Volvo has entered into an agreement with Westport as a Tier 1 Development Supplier for its heavy duty natural gas engines and associated supply chain. Westport will supply its Westport HD technology and work together with the Gothenburg, Sweden engine manufacturer to qualify appropriate suppliers consistent with Volvo volume and quality expectations. The new natural gas engines are expected to meet future European emission requirements.
