Cookeville, Tennessee Police Department Selects Digital Ally's Patented VuLink Connectivity for Officers and Law Enforcement Vehicles

Department to Supply Officers and Entire Vehicle Fleet With Digital Ally Video Capabilities

LENEXA, KS--(Oct 17, 2014) -  Digital Ally, Inc. (NASDAQ: DGLY), which develops, manufactures and markets advanced video surveillance products for law enforcement, homeland security and commercial applications, today announced that it has received an order from the Cookeville, Tennessee Police Department for DVM-800 In-Car Video Systems, DVM-440 Motorcycle Video Systems, FirstVU HD Officer-Worn Body Cameras and its patented VuLink Connectivity Devices.

"Our VuLink connectivity technology continues to pay healthy dividends in terms of the introduction of hands-free and simultaneous activation of officer-worn body cameras and in-car video systems," stated Stanton E. Ross, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Ally, Inc. "We believe the patented VuLink device provides Digital Ally with a significant competitive advantage in the rapidly expanding body camera market."

"The Cookeville Police Department engaged in extensive testing and evaluation of our systems, relative to the competition, before electing to go with Digital Ally for a full fleet deployment. Cookeville represents one of many existing and new customers that are opting to upgrade to Digital Ally's new products because of unparalleled features, warranty coverage, interconnectivity capabilities and competitive pricing. The DVM-800 was chosen because of its feature-rich capabilities, including the VuLink and a reverse back-up camera option not found on competitors' offerings."

The order for 59 DVM-800 systems, 5 DVM-440 systems, 25 FirstVU HD Body Cameras, and 65 VuLink Connectivity Devices will be delivered in the current quarter. The order is valued at over $300,000.

"The commitment from Cookeville follows a testing and evaluation program that has been ongoing since February 2014," added Ross. "The Cookeville Police Department is recognized as one of the country's 'micropolitan' areas, which are smaller cities that nevertheless function as significant economic hubs. Cookeville is one of the Company's long-time customers, having purchased our legacy DVM-500, DVM-500 Ultra, and DVM-500 Plus systems for its cruiser and motorcycle fleets in the past. The department wanted to upgrade its in-car and motorcycle digital video capabilities, and it has been evaluating our next-generation DVM-800 and DVM-440 systems, along with our FirstVU HD body cameras with our patented VuLink connectivity system. Cookeville had not deployed body-worn cameras prior to this order."

Since its market launch, the efficacy of the FirstVU HD high-definition body camera has been complemented and expanded by 'live streaming' capabilities, cloud-based storage and access, and the recently introduced and patented VuLink connectivity system, which wirelessly synchronizes multiple recording devices, such as video cameras and microphones. When an operator starts one recording device, such as a body camera, VuLink instructs the other recording devices, including in-car video systems, to also record, and synchronizes the recordings on the various devices. VuLink can also switch on both the body camera and the in-car video system automatically whenever certain triggering events occur, such as the activation of emergency lights on a law enforcement vehicle. This provides audio and video surveillance from multiple vantage points in order to more fully capture an event. It is a truly effortless way to record audio and video of an incident from the perspective of the vehicle's video system, which can include the officer wearing the body camera, and from the personal perspective of the wearer, regardless of whether the officer is inside or away from his or her cruiser.
