GLV\'s Water Treatment Group Awarded New Large-Scale Contracts Worldwide Totalling Over $45 M
(All amounts are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise indicated.) Management of GLV Inc. (\"GLV\" or \"the Company\"; ticker symbols LVG.A and LVG.B) is pleased to announce that in recent weeks, the Water Treatment Group (Eimco Water Technologies) was awarded several large-scale contracts totalling over $45 M. In terms of value, over 52% of these new contracts, or $23.8 M, was obtained in the industrial segment in the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Eastern Europe and New Caledonia. These industrial contracts relate to state-of-the-art technologies mostly destined for companies operating in the energy and food and beverage processing sectors, as well as in certain other industrial fields. The Water Treatment Group notably obtained three orders totalling $14.8 M in the energy sector, including one worth $6.7 M consisting in an automatic condenser cleaning system to be delivered in the Middle East during the fourth quarter of GLV\'s fiscal 2009. The two other orders, worth $5.7 M and $2.4 M respectively, are in the United States and Hungary and will be finalized during fiscal 2010. In addition, three contracts totalling $5.8 M were awarded to the Australian company AJM Environmental Services acquired by GLV in March 2008. Pursuant to these contracts, which will be completed during fiscal 2009 and early fiscal 2010, the Water Treatment Group will deliver wastewater treatment, recycling and purification systems designed for food and beverage processing companies in Australia and New-Zealand.
GLV\'s President and Chief Operating Officer Richard Verreault says he is very pleased with the Water Treatment Group\'s new industrial contracts which not only attests to the contribution of its latest acquisition to the development of its business, but also support GLV\'s goal to better balance this group\'s municipal and industrial revenues. For information purposes, the industrial segment generated approximately 29% of the Water Treatment Group\'s revenues in the last fiscal year, a proportion that management aims to increase to over 50% within the next few years.
The Water Treatment Group was also recently awarded large-scale contracts worth close to $22 M in the municipal sector, mainly in the United States, but also in Canada and Africa. In the U.S. municipal market, the group obtained orders totalling $8.7 M for submerged membrane (MBR) bioreactors, of which a contract worth close to $7 M for a municipality in the State of Washington, to be delivered during fiscal 2011. Apart from this contract and three others totalling $4.8 M which will be finalized during fiscal 2010, all of the other municipal contracts recently garnered by the group will be completed before the end of the current year.
It should be noted that these new industrial and municipal contracts announced today add to the numerous smaller-scale orders also obtained during the same period that are included in the Water Treatment Group\'s order backlog.
