Diversified technology company, 3M and Checkpoint Systems Incorporated have announced a global strategic sales and marketing collaboration that will expands each company’s commitment to the library market.

Under terms of the alliance, 3M Library Systems will become the exclusive worldwide reseller and service provider for Checkpoint’s line of library security and productivity products. Checkpoint will continue to expand its patron-based marketing services portfolio and continue selling globally those offerings directly to libraries.

3M, the diversified technology company and AGI Polymatrix, a MeadWestvaco Corp. resource, have announced a strategic marketing alliance under which 3M will offer the unique Red Tag DVD and CD security solution to libraries.

3M’s Library Systems business, a long-trusted supplier of library productivity, security and information management solutions, and AGI Polymatrix, a world leader in DVD and CD media packaging, together will help the library industry address one of its most pressing concerns. That is the protection and management of rapidly growing DVD and CD collections.

24 March 2009 – VEGA Consulting Services Ltd (VEGA), a Finmeccanica company, has successfully re-qualified for the IS Security Support and the IS Communication Support and Services framework agreements of the UK Ministry of Defence Information Communications Services (MOD ICS) Catalogue.

The MOD ICS catalogue allows the MOD and Other Government Departments (OGD), agencies and demanders to benefit from an uncomplicated and easy contracting route, with rates that ensure value for money.

VEGA’s re-qualification for these framework agreements complements the capability already delivered under the company’s ongoing qualification to provide IS Total Solutions Consultancy and Support Services.

The organisers of the Infosecurity Europe, Europe’s No. 1 information security event, say that they are expecting a storm of controversy to erupt over the introduction of the Google Street View facility in the UK.
